The room just happen to be laid out so that the "Bad Guy" didn't have to turn his back on anyone, which is handy for him. Also, the "armed" student was always sitting in the same seat. I have a hard time believing the "Bad Guy" didn't know where his armed opposition was from the beginning.<br /><br />These are two huge tactical advantages that a real active shooter would not have.
